New 'Girl of the Year' to Be Unveiled at North Point Mall

ALPHARETTA, GA -- For American Girl fans, the introduction of the newest Girl of the Year character causes enormous excitement.

On Saturday, Jan. 1, girls and their parents are invited to line up in front of American Girl Atlanta for the official unveiling of Kanani, American Girl's 2011 Girl of the Year.

Girls will experience the warm, tropical world of Hawaii during the weekend-long Kanani celebration. Guests in attendance will be among the first to see the brand new Kanani doll, accessories and books, and learn about Kanani's inspiring story and her love of sharing the aloha spirit.

Each girl in attendance will receive a free grass skirt for her American Girl doll and enjoy Hula dance demonstrations by a professional Hawaiian dance troupe. Other festivities include Hawaiian-themed craft activities, doll drawings and more.

The event will take place at American Girl at North Point Mall (1202 North Point Circle, Alpharetta, 30022). The store will open at 10:00 a.m., with Hula demonstrations taking place at 10:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.
