ALPHARETTA, GA -- "The Surry with the Fringe on Top" is preparing to stop in Alpharetta.

Oklahoma!, the rollicking musical by Rodgers and Hammerstein, will be presented at Alpharetta High School (3595 Webb Bridge Road, 30005) in March.

Set during the turn of the 20th century, Oklahoma! tells the story of Laurey, a winsome farm girl, and the two men who love her -- a handsome cowboy named Curly and a sinister hired farmhand named Jud Fry. The musical celebrates America's pioneering spirit and the rivalry between cowboys and farmers in Oklahoma territory with a boot-stomping energy that has delighted audiences for nearly 70 years.

With comedic subplots, a dream ballet sequence and all of the show's popular songs, including "I Cain't Say No" and "People Will Say We're in Love," Alpharetta High's production of Oklahoma! promises to be fun for the entire family.

Performance dates include:

* Thursday, Mar. 17 at 7:00 p.m.
* Friday, Mar. 18 at 7:00 p.m.
* Saturday, Mar. 19 at 2:00 p.m.
* Sunday, Mar. 20 at 2:00 p.m.
