Children Have Lots of Storytime Options in Alpharetta
Children Have Lots of Storytime Options in Alpharetta

A great activity for children and their stay at home parents is storytime.  Reading, hearing the story, looking at the pictures, interaction with children --or other adults -- are all great reasons for everybody to enjoy it.

The Alpharetta area has a large number of places that have storytime, each with their own benefit.   These storytime locations are for children under 3; the libraries may have additional activities for kids older than that -- call them for details.

On Monday, Thursday and Friday at 10:00, Grandma Snazzy does storytime at the Kroger located on Crabapple.  This storytime lasts just under one hour and has a couple of songs, a story and ends with a coloring activity for the kids.   Grandma Snazzy is an employee of Kroger and does a great job working with the children.  She’s been doing this for 15 years and generations of local kids know her and look forward to going every week.

Ultimately, what really makes this one of the best storytimes in the area is Grandma Snazzy; she knows the names of all the kids and is a real treasure. Kroger is located at 12460 Crabapple Road, Alpharetta, 30004, 770-740-2050.  If you’re planning on going, it would be a good idea to call just to confirm that Snazzy is in the house.

The Alpharetta Library, located at 238 Canton Street, Alpharetta, 30004 has their storytime every Tuesday at 10:30.  It lasts about 25 minutes and has a varied program that may involve a song or two, followed by a story and ending with a craft.

The Roswell Library, 115 Norcross Street, Roswell, 30075 has storytime on Wednesday at 10:30.  Ms. Angie leads the group through three or four songs, one story and an activity.  Because libraries are public places, they may have these storytimes delayed because of voting or school holidays.  Call your library to confirm that they’re having storytime to avoid unnecessary trips.

Barnes & Noble at Northpoint Parkway also has storytime on Tuesday and Saturday at 10:30. PLAY in Roswell has storytime on Monday and Thursday at 10:30.  Six days a week, you can find a storytime location in Alpharetta; plan accordingly and enjoy reading to your children!
