ALPHARETTA, GA -- The students at Creek View Elementary School in Alpharetta recently participated in "Coins for Canines," a fundraiser that supports the Milton-based Canine Assistants.

Creek View is home to Paisley, a full-time therapy dog. In honor of Paisley's first year at the school, the Creek View community decided to give something big.

Throughout the week of Jan. 31, children brought coins to school every morning and placed the money in jars divided up by grade level. Participants were treated to daily visits from Canine Assistants puppies-in-training to keep the incentive high.

Ultimately, the students raised $3,001.44, all of which went straight to Canine Assistants.

Creek View's fifth graders contributed the most money, with $693.45 in their jars. They will be treated to a "puppy party" and will collectively name a future puppy for Canine Assistants.

The third grade class was only $15 behind the fifth graders; they placed second, and the second grade class placed third with $644.
