Alpharetta man indicted for stabbing friend's dog

ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- A Fulton County Grand Jury has indicted an Alpharetta man accused of stabbing a pit bull mix nearly two dozen times.

Philemon Delouise has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals in the Feb. 28 attack on 2-year-old "Roxy."

The incident happened at the defendant's Village Green Way home. Prosecutors said Delouise, who was taking care of Roxy for a friend, held her down and stabbed her, then took her outside and left her to die.

Roxy's owner found her and took her to the vet about nine hours after the attack. The dog survived the stabbing and is receiving ongoing medical care.

Delouise, 27, was arrested at his home. A trial date has not yet been set.
