ROSWELL, Ga. -- The Roswell, Alpharetta and Milton Public Works Departments are teaming up with Keep Roswell Beautiful to offer residents a chance to dispose of unwanted items at no charge.

The event will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 19 at Roswell Public Works (1810 Hembree Road, 30076).

Proof of residency will be required; utility bills are preferred, although Roswell residents with the window decal do not need any other form of identification.

As this is a popular event, city officials are warning residents to expect delays.

Acceptable items include:

* Tires (must be off the rim; automobile tires only; limit four)
* Sofas/tables/chairs
* Washers/dryers
* Televisions
* Refrigerators
* Deactivated cell phones

The following items will not be accepted:

* Paint
* Household hazardous waste
* Fluids, including motor oil/antifreeze
* Batteries
* Construction/demolition materials
* Yard waste
