ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- Fulton County Cooperative Extension will teach a “Gardening Made Easy” class to assist residents with starting a backyard garden.

The free class is offered to county residents wanting to plant their own vegetable gardens. The class will be held Saturday, Sept. 13 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Ellard Farmers Market located at 8400 Holcomb Bridge Road, Alpharetta. Call 404-613-7670 to reserve your space.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of planting a back yard vegetable garden that yields beautiful crops.  They will be taught the newest techniques for planning a garden, preparing the soil and much more to produce delicious, fresh vegetables at harvest time.

Fulton County Cooperative Extension also hosts monthly classes on topics such as composting, weed control, lawn care, financial management, diabetes, and container gardening. Classes are held in various locations throughout the county. Call 404-332-2400 for more information.
