ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- Miss America 2011 Teresa Scanlan is in Metro Atlanta to help kick off the largest-ever Produce for KidsĀ® Get Healthy, Give Hope campaign.

The former Miss Nebraska will share her passion for healthy eating during a cooking class at Publix (4305 State Bridge Road, Alpharetta, 30022) at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 24.

Scanlan will team up with kids helped by Children's Miracle Network to show that cooking is fun and that healthy food can also taste good. Together, they will prepare an Ideal Meal -- a chef-created, nutritionist-approved meal solution for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.

The easy-to-prepare Ideal Meals feature fresh produce and include a main dish, side dish and/or dessert and a drink, all within the USDA recommended daily dietary guidelines.

After helping to prepare the meal, Scanlan will hold a meet and greet where she will sign autographs and pose for pictures.
