ROME, Ga. -- Coosa County Club in Rome will welcome the nation's top junior golfers for the 12th consecutive year to the Burgett H. Mooney, Jr. Rome Classic in June.

Staged by the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), the 96-player tournament field includes juniors from 10 states and the District of Columbia, as well as players from Canada, Mexico and Venezuela.

The field boasts 45 golfers from Georgia.

The Classic will be held Monday, June 13 through Thursday, June 16. Coosa Country Club is located at 110 Branham Avenue in Rome.

Highlighting the Boys Division this year is Patrick Grahek. The high school senior from Alpharetta, who has signed a National Letter of Intent with the University of Notre Dame, took second place at the 2010 W. Duncan MacMillan Classic at Rush Creek in Maple Grove, Minn. He also won the 2008 Medicus Junior All-Star at Oakwood in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

Another junior to watch is Michael Hines of Acworth. The high school junior is coming off a fifth-place tie at the Exide Technologies Junior Open in Johns Creek in April. Hines already has one AJGA victory: the 2009 Junior All-Star at Callaway Gardens.

In the Girls Division, all eyes will be on Taylor Ramsey of Milledgeville, who hopes to follow in her sister Ashlan's footsteps; Ashlan won the 2010 Burgett H. Mooney, Jr. Rome Classic. Taylor won the 2010 Charles Howell III Junior Championship in Augusta and has eight top-10 finishes in national junior golf competitions.

A practice round will be held June 13 with a 2 p.m. shotgun start. An awards ceremony will follow the final-round play Thursday, June 16.

Admission to the Classic is free of charge, and guests are welcome to attend.
