Rookie Dads is June 16 at Baby on the Go

Having your first child is like nothing you’ve ever experienced.   You can read any number of books but they can’t really prepare you for how your life is about to change.  The learning curve from expectant father to Dad is huge and there are lots  of questions that you don’t know you need to ask.

Rookie Dads can help out you expectant fathers.  It’s a free class where new dads can meet other dads; ask questions, network, exchange baby sitter names or just try to know what you need to know.  Rookie Dads is held on June 16 at 6:30 at Baby on the Go in Roswell.  Baby on the Go is located at 270 Rucker Road, Suite 305, Roswell, 30004.

Gesher L'Torah members help with tornado relief efforts

Gesher L'Torah members help with tornado relief efforts

ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- A group from Congregation Gesher L'Torah (GLT) recently pitched in to help with tornado cleanup efforts in Alabama.

On May 22, the volunteers met with Nechama, a Jewish disaster relief organization, in Pratt City, just outside Birmingham.

The group made its way past splintered houses along devastated streets; the sheer destruction was unlike anything anyone had ever seen before.

After a few minutes of staring in awe at the scene about them, the GLT volunteers dug right in and began cleaning up the debris left by the ravaging tornado.

Piece by piece, they took apart and moved an entire house where the family had survived by huddling under the front stairs.
