Fulton County to conduct special election for State House District 22

ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- A special election will take place on Tuesday, January 7 to fill vacancies in State House District 22. The election for State House District 22 will occur in portions of Cherokee, Forsyth and Fulton Counties. Three Fulton County precincts will participate.

Early voting will be held through Friday, Jan. 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Alpharetta Branch Library located at 238 Canton Street. Early voting locations will be closed for holidays on December 24, 25, and January 1.

On Tuesday, January 7, polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the following precinct locations:

ML021 & ML022              Birmingham Falls Elementary School

ML07A                             Hopewell Baptist Church

Citizens must have been registered to vote by Dec. 9 to participate in the special election. Voter registration forms can be obtained at the county registrar’s office or from the Secretary of State’s website: sos.ga.gov/elections.

This is a non-partisan special election with no party primaries. However, each candidate’s party affiliation, if any, will be listed on the ballot. Run-off elections, if needed, will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 4.
