What are the Odds of Your Team Winning it All?

ATLANTA -- There are 20 teams that still have a shot at a state championship, but some teams are more likely to come away with a title than others. Ever wonder what the odds of your team winning it all would be? Thanks to the Massey Ratings, you don't have to wonder anymore.

According to the computer's calculations, Carrollton has a better shot at winning a championship than any other team, followed by Clinch County and Buford. Carrollton's opponent, Burke County, is considered the longest shot of any team in any classification.

Statistically, 5A is the most competitive class; all four teams have better than a 1 in 17 chance of winning a title.

Computer Predictions Fare Well in Quarterfinals

ATLANTA -- Massey Matchups correctly predicted 15 winners of 20 quarterfinal playoff games.

Of the five classes, the computer predictor tool undoubtedly did the worst in Single-A. Massey Matchups picked the right winner in only one of the four Single-A games.

Here are how all 20 playoff games turned out. The computer's prediction is on the left; the actual final score appears on the right.

Mill Creek 40, Colquitt County 34; Colquitt County won 27-14

Kids II Donates Gear for Random Act of Kindness

ATLANTA -- With the help of Alpharetta-based Kids II, 11Alive News surprised a new mom with new baby gear for a "Random Act of Kindness."

Jackie has struggled in recent months. After her baby girl Jayla was born, they became homeless.

But now Jackie's getting back on her feet at Summit Trail, a young adult transitional housing program run by the nonprofit CHRIS Kids.

"I have a job now," Jackie said. "I'm going to school next for RN at Georgia Perimeter, then I'll transfer to Georgia State."

"She's a terrific young mom, and this gift really is helpful to her," said Kathy Colbenson, CHRIS Kids CEO. "It will help in her journey moving forward."

Jayla, 5 months, was all smiles when her mom let her test out the gear.
