FULTON COUNTY, GA -- The first official Fulton County Board of Education meeting of 2011 resulted in a new look for the board table, with new officers and four members beginning new four-year terms.
Outgoing vice president Linda Schultz, who represents District 1, was elected president of the Board of Education for a two-year term.
Linda Bryant, who represents District 4 and is the outgoing president, was elected to a one-year term as vice president.
"Thank you to my board colleagues for this honor," said Schultz after the votes were tallied at the Tuesday, Jan. 20 board meeting. "I will work to make sure that everyone's voice is heard and that the decisions of this board are carried forward."
President Schultz was first elected to the school board in 2005 and represents areas in Alpharetta and Roswell. Before serving on the school board, she advocated for children and public education for more than 12 years.
