ADOPT A PET: Meet Sierra

ATLANTA – If you dream of coming home to a wet nose, wagging tail and tons of kisses (in addition to, perhaps, a half chewed shoe or overturned trashcan) adopt a puppy from your local pet shelter. According to the ASPCA, approximately 5 million to 7 million domesticated animals enter animal shelters nationwide, every year, and approximately 3 million to 4 million are euthanized. However, you can change those numbers but adopting a “companion” for yourself or your family. Pets are an investment but, in our opinion, an investment well worth the money.

Sierra is a four month old Beagle mix and she’s available for adoption from Fulton County Animal Services. She’s classified as a small dog; the average Beagle can grow to be, as much as, 35 pounds. She’s black and brown with a white marking on her chest. Sierra has an issue with her left eye that needs medical attention. She is described as a “sweet” puppy and she can be yours for $85.

If one should choose to adopt a pet from the Fulton County Animal Services, adoption fees include: vaccinations and de-worming, a veterinarian visit, a microchip and surgical sterilization. And, a list of the basic requirements for adoption can be found here. Fulton County Animal Serivces is located at 860 Marietta Boulevard in Atlanta.
