Buffalo Wild Wings unveils new logo, restaurant design

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- Buffalo Wild Wings unveiled a new logo last week and said that it was redesigning its restaurants.

The new logo is not dramatically different. The colors are the same, and a winged buffalo is still the centerpiece.

But the tagline "Grill & Bar" has been replaced with "Wings. Beer. Sports.," and the buffalo image has been tweaked.

"The new buffalo is more muscular and athletic," Minnesota-based Buffalo Wild Wings said in a news release. "It has enlarged wings, narrowed eyes and upward-turned horns -- giving it a more powerful look."

Redesigned restaurants will be unveiled in late 2012, with the first one being in Cincinnati and the second in San Diego. Most of the new Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants opening in 2013 and many remodels will feature the new design.

On Thursday, June 26, the fast food chain will donate one dollar from every Blizzard Treat sold to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, which provides funding for 170 children's hospitals in North America.

The popular neighborhood tavern is featuring its six-week long “Red, White and Brew” menu. During this time, all eight locations of Marlow’s will offer special dishes and beverages that truly celebrate the summer season in America. This is also the time for grill masters to show off their skills in Marlow’s Third Annual Grilling Recipe Contest.

“We’re excited for the return of our ‘Red, White and Brew’ menu as it signifies a season of good times with friends and family, warmer weather and Americana,” says Executive Chef/Co-Founder John C. Metz. “It’s really become a summertime favorite for our guests, not only because of the delicious food but because they get to be a part of the celebration through our grilling contest,” he adds.

Smoothie King raising money for Bert's Big Adventure

ATLANTA -- Smoothie King locations across metro Atlanta are spending the entire month of June raising money for Bert's Big Adventure.

Customers who give $1 to the non-profit will receive a $2 "bounce back" coupon from Smoothie King.

The goal is to raise at least $5,000 by the end of the month.

Bert's Big Adventure, which was founded by Bert Weiss of Q100's "The Bert Show," sends children with chronic and terminal illnesses on an all-expense-paid trip to Walt Disney World.

Atlanta Chefs Celebrate First Pastured Poultry Week, June 11-17

Georgians for Pastured Poultry (GPP), an alliance that is promoting the use of high-welfare, pasture raised poultry in Georgia, has created Pastured Poultry Week to take place Monday, June 11 through Sunday, June 17, 2012.

As part of this annual event, Atlanta restaurants will help spread the word about the many virtues of pastured poultry – its superior taste, the natural life of the chickens, and the positive impact on both human health and the health of the environment – by serving it on their menus every day during this designated week. Additionally, chef demonstrations at local farmers markets throughout the spring and summer will educate consumers on ways to prepare pastured poultry in order to continue raising awareness.
