ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- Fifteen track and field athletes from Alpharetta Elementary School competed in Special Olympics Georgia's State Summer Games at Emory University over the weekend.

The students ran in a number of dashes and were also represented in the softball throw.

Participating Special Olympians include Michael Astorga, Ethan Bromelow, Krisha Devarakonda, Gibby Durdan, Harrison Elrod, Paloma FLorez-Alvarez, Jair Franklin, Madelyn Hoyland, Muadh Kamal, Cole Lackey, Matthew Michniewicz, Layke Reynolds, Jacob Smith, Trevor Smith and Nicole Zbrzezniak.
