ROME, Ga. -- The Berry College chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, an honor society for students studying Spanish, recently hosted its spring induction ceremony.

Julia Barnes, associate professor of Spanish, welcomed seven new members:

* Hillary Anderton, sophomore Spanish and economic double major (Murfreesboro, Tennessee)
* Lindsay Cannon, sophomore early childhood education major (Gainesville)
* Elizabeth Clark, freshmen (Macon)
* Joel Cruz, senior Spanish and accounting double major (Rome)
* Gabriela Jimenez, sophomore Spanish major (Calhoun)
* Jenevieve Marie Kimmal, senior Spanish and sociology double major (Snellville)
* Allison Preg, sophomore (Atlanta)

Additionally, 11 graduating seniors received honor cords from the organization:
