ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- The next meeting to address redistricting for a new North Fulton high school will be Wednesday, Mar. 16.

Attendance zones of all high school boundaries north of the Chattahoochee River may be impacted by the redistricting process, as could some elementary and middle school boundaries.

The public is strongly encouraged to attend the meeting to give input on how to draw the new boundary lines.

The first of the three redistricting meetings was held in February. Participants received background information on the rezoning process and discussed their opinions in small, facilitated groups.

On Mar. 16, representatives from Fulton County Schools will present alternative proposals for new attendance zones and allow attendees to comment on the strengths and weaknesses of these possibilities.

The still-unnamed high school is under construction at the corner of Bethany Bend and Cogburn Road in Milton. Ed Spurka, currently the principal of Roswell High School, had been named the school's first principal.

The Fulton County Board of Education will vote on the new attendance zones in June. They will go into effect when the school opens in August 2012.
