Alpharetta High Presents 'Oklahoma!'

ALPHARETTA, GA -- "The Surry with the Fringe on Top" is preparing to stop in Alpharetta.

Oklahoma!, the rollicking musical by Rodgers and Hammerstein, will be presented at Alpharetta High School (3595 Webb Bridge Road, 30005) in March.

Set during the turn of the 20th century, Oklahoma! tells the story of Laurey, a winsome farm girl, and the two men who love her -- a handsome cowboy named Curly and a sinister hired farmhand named Jud Fry.

Golf Tournament to Benefit Prostate Cancer Coalition

ROSWELL, GA -- An upcoming charity golf tournament will benefit the Georgia Prostate Cancer Coalition, a non-profit organization founded by prostate cancer survivors and support groups in Metro Atlanta.

The tournament will be Monday, Apr. 4 at Country Club of Roswell (2500 Club Springs Drive, 30076). A $125 entry fee is due Friday, Mar. 11 and can be sent to:

FULTON COUNTY, GA -- Each member of the Fulton County Board of Education sponsors a monthly meeting open to all members of the community.

The sessions provide an opportunity for direct contact with community members and give board members a chance to listen to local issues and concerns.

Board members have set the following meeting dates for February:

Eric King, ASLA, owner of King Landscaping, and Rick Goldstein, a registered architect and co-owner of MOSAIC Group [Architects and Remodelers], will share decades of experience creating inviting outdoor living spaces.

"Easy Hardscaping" is a free crash course that will showcase the best (and worst) ideas in building patios, walks and walls for your home landscape. It will be held at the MOSAIC office, located at 2358 Perimeter Park Drive, Suite 300.

500 Local Couples to Renew Vows for Valentine's Day

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- Love is in the air, and 500 local couples will prove it by participating in Valentine Vows, an event sponsored by local Christian radio station 104.7 The Fish.

The couples will renew their vows in a special ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12 at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church (9820 Nesbit Ferry Road, Johns Creek, 30022).

Redistricting Meetings Set for Bethany Bend High School

ALPHARETTA, GA -- Three community meetings are set to address the redistricting process for a new high school in northern Fulton County:

* Wednesday, Feb. 23
* Wednesday, Mar. 16
* Wednesday, Apr. 13

All three meetings will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Alpharetta High School (3595 Webb Bridge Road, 30005). Parents, staff and community members are invited to attend and give their input.

The high school will be constructed at the corner of Bethany Bend and Cogburn Road in Milton.

Michael O'Neal Chamber Singers to Perform in Alpharetta

ALPHARETTA, GA -- With a repertoire spanning centuries and styles, the Michael O'Neal Chamber Singers has emerged as one of the Southeast's finest vocal ensembles.

Now, the 24-member group will appear at Alpharetta Presbyterian Church (180 Academy Street, 30004) for a special performance at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 13. Admission is $10 per person.

The performance is called "Gloria: Expressions of Joy." The term "Gloria" denotes both the joyous second part of the Ordinary of the Roman Catholic Mass and an independent work of the same name.
